How do I add TurnShift to Microsoft Teams?

An admin opens Settings > Connections in TurnShift, clicks Connect next to Microsoft Teams and signs in with their work Microsoft account. Then Add to Teams puts TurnShift in a team: its people and channels show up in TurnShift a minute later. Your Microsoft 365 admin may have to allow apps from outside your company first.

Which messages does TurnShift send in Teams?

• In the schedule's Teams channel: when a shift starts and when it ends, with the people on shift mentioned.
• In a chat with TurnShift, for each person who added it for themselves: a shift someone gave them or took away, 10 minutes before a shift, the day before, their next week and days left to book.
• Everyone else gets these by email, and the one 10 minutes before a shift if they turn it on. Each person picks Teams or email for each one in Your settings > Notifications.

Is TurnShift the Shifts app of Microsoft Teams?

No. Shifts is Microsoft's own app. TurnShift is a separate app for schedules like support, on-call or a front desk: people book their own days or take turns in a rotation, everyone sees them on one calendar, and TurnShift posts who is on in Teams.

Can we use Slack and Teams at the same time?

Yes. Connect both in Settings > Connections. A schedule can post in a Slack channel and a Teams channel, and each person gets their messages where they are.
