Which messages does TurnShift send, and when?

Each one is a switch in the schedule's settings > Notifications:

• In the schedule's channel: a message 5 minutes before a shift starts, and one right after it ends.
• The channel topic, updated when a shift starts or ends.
• To the person on shift: a direct message 10 minutes before it starts.
• A reminder to book, from 10 days before the next month, to people who still have days to book.
• Their shifts for the next day, at 1:00 pm, and for the next week, on Friday at 5:25 pm, in their own time zone.
• A message when someone else assigns them a shift or cancels one.

Can TurnShift post in a private channel?

Yes, once you add TurnShift to it: type /invite @TurnShift in the channel. TurnShift cannot read your messages, and only sees the private channels you add it to.

Can someone stop receiving TurnShift messages?

Yes. Each person can mute their TurnShift direct messages from the dashboard or the Slack App Home. Channel messages keep posting.
