Questions

Is the end day counted?

Not by default: from Monday to Friday is 4 days, like a date difference in a spreadsheet. Check Count the end day too to count both the start and the end day, which gives 5. Use it for a stay, a leave or a project that runs through its last day.

Which days are working days?

Every day but the weekend and the country's national public holidays. The weekend is Saturday and Sunday, or Friday and Saturday in countries like Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Israel. If your team works on Saturdays, check Saturday is a working day.

Which public holidays are left out?

The national public holidays of the country you pick, the ones Google Calendar shows, for 5 years back and 5 years ahead. A holiday on a weekend is listed but changes nothing, since that day was off already. Holidays of one state or region only, like those of Texas or Bavaria, are not counted yet, and half days like Christmas Eve count as working days.

How many working days are in 2027?

In the United States, 249 working days with federal holidays: 261 weekdays minus 12 federal holidays and the days they are observed on, December 31, 2027 included, when New Year's Day 2028 is observed. Pick 2027 under the dates, then your country, to see yours.

How do I count days in Excel or Google Sheets?

Subtract the dates: =B1-A1 gives the days from the date in A1 to the date in B1. =NETWORKDAYS(A1,B1,C1:C12) gives the working days, start and end included, with your holidays in C1 to C12. =WORKDAY(A1,10,C1:C12) gives the date 10 working days after A1.
